Music has multiple uses in life. For example, listening to music can be a great way to pamper yourself. Pop on some of the best relaxing tunes you’ve found and you could spend a good few hours soaking up the mindfulness of the moment! Similarly, music can be focusing, and when you really need to get down to work, putting your headphones on can get you into the zone.

But with all that being said, sometimes we get a bit sick and tired of the same songs. If you’re playing them over and over again, even when you love them, the sound can get pretty stale. That’s when you need to bring some new tunes into your collection! But how can you fast track your way to finding songs you know you’re going to love? By using the tips down below.

Don’t Care Too Much About the Flow

It’s easy to think that designing the ultimate playlist means putting a lot of time and effort into including the right genres in the right amounts, and ordering them in a way that you know you’re going to enjoy. While this can be fun, it’s also a lot of work! As such, don’t get bogged down in the details of this.

The flow will be fine no matter what order the songs are in, and if you’re going to be hitting the shuffle button 9 times out of 10, who really cares in the end anyway? What’s really best is just having a large collection of tracks you know you’ll love, that won’t limit you to the same two or three artists, nor the same 20 to 30 songs in a row.

Check Out the Producer

Producers tend to have an impact on the way a track sounds in the end, and plenty of them have their own signature motifs, themes, and tricks that go into their production process. As such, it’s not just similar artists you should be on the lookout for – check out the producers of your most favourite songs and see what else they’ve done!

Some producers will have pretty big names, and their clients will be just as big. Someone like clive davis, who signed greats like Whitney Houston, will have record credits all over the place. That’s great, and makes this research very easy, but sometimes you’ll come across a smaller, more indie producer. Discovering their catalogue could take more time, so be willing to put in the hours here.

Make Mini Playlists Off of This One

Once you’ve got your ultimate playlist altogether, start to separate the songs in the collection into other playlists. This is good for ‘isolating’ certain moods or situations you’ll be using the music for, such as relaxing or focusing like we mentioned above. Get your general catalogue together first, that you can use as and when, and then narrow things down from there.
